Description
403 Hathaway Houston 6, Texas. Mr. Amon G. Carter, Fort Worth, Texas. Dear Mr. Carter, The newspaper came today and Col. Drake's opinion that our boys may have been overtaken by the Russian Army would make us very happy if we dared allow ourselves to build up our hopes, because the group collected at Odessa, has sailed for home, according to the radio. I have no news to pass on to you. You are my chief source of news and I do appreciate it so very much. Wish I could see and talk with Col. Drake. It would make me sure that men can survive and return home. We will soon have the chance however, as there will be a group of P.Ws here Mar. 18 under the auspices of Red Cross. I shall certainly be there to see and hear them. Thank you again for all the information you have sent and hoping to hear something really good soon. Sincerely, Josephine J. Vallentine.
