Description
one of these cards are old but I thought it was real cute so am sending it too. The deals hes talking about were punch (?) Mingus, Tex April 30, 1943 Mr. Amon G. Carter Ft. Worth, Texas Dear Mr. Carter: I am sure you don’t know me, but we ust recently sold our Drug store on Camp Bowie Blvd, and "Little Amon" (my pet name for him) was one of our best friends. I believe we knew him as well as anyone, and I would say he is one of the finest young men I have ever known. He used to tell us when he was in school, that he would go by to see you and then rush on to the drug store to see the gang. You have my deepest sympathy as we know what a wonderful boy he is, and I still feel that he will return safely. I shall never forget on his 21st birthday, he came down to the store to show me what you gave him. The check for $1,000, his face was just beaming. He told me he had the best Dad in the world. We have heard from him ever since he entered the Army. I am enclosing next to the last card we had from him I have misplaced the last one which was dated Feb 2. Again let me say that I think he is a wonderful boy, and we must hope and pray for his safe return. Mr. Carter if you have heard anything from him I would surely appreciate it if you would let me know, as you have no idea how much Ben and I have worried about him. With deepiest sympathy Mrs Ben C. Weeks Mingus Tex Please return the card Rt
