Description
Thursday Dear Mr. Carter: It was so nice of you to call me the other day. Hearing your voice is a real inspiration, knowing you feel as strongly about your son as I do about Sidney. The other day I asked a friend whether she had heard from her husband in Africa, and after pondering a bit, she replied, "Come to think of it, I haven't had a letter all week." So all people don't love with the same intensity. However, I wouldn't have it otherwise - it's only because I love Sidney so deeply that I can feel as I do; I wouldn't change it. No mail, and I don't have Capt. Cannon's address yet. As I told you - he is Gen. Oliver's aide, and Capt. Cannon is back now, so I will let you know as soon as I can get word from him. He might not be very informative, however. We received a thoughtfull letter from Sir Reginald Tuck in London, written in December, tho; and telling us how well Sidney was and that he and his family spent time with him. If, sometimes, you feel that you're not busy, and you're alone, I'll come up to spend the day with you, if you'd like me to. Or perhaps you could come down here. I'll call you as soon as I hear any news. Sincerely, Jane Wiedermann I'll enjoy having some pictures of Amon, Jr. - am anxious to see them.
