- Description
- Tuesday A. M. Dear Mrs. Deakins: The enclosed clipping was in this morning's Kansas City Times, it might have appeared in your paper. Sidney says that Lt. Frank H Calley was captured at the same time Amon, Jr. was. In the event that these men might return soon, it would be a definite recent contact for you. I don't know whether you've heard from Amon, Jr. from the new camp. The same paper carried the information aboutthe men's new location which we were anxious to know. I hope the Reds can liberate all the men soon. Amon, Jr. would never try to escape, I know - but a similar neglect of guard duty - as was the case here could happen. Mrs. Deakins, I have complete faith that all is well with Amon, Jr. - I just truly feel that way. You're very busy - as always - and I don't expect a letter from you. All I want is a card telling me when Amon's latest letter was written. Somehere - I have a feeling that maybe he's not in that camp but could also be in friendly hands. (Wishful thinking). Remember me to Mr. Deakins - and my very best wishes to Mr. Carter - my thoughts are with you as always. Sincerely, Jane
