Worth, Texas Dear Sir, Please publish this poem, which I have just written, as a tribute to the late Will Rogers from one of his countless many unknown friends Most Respectfully yours, Sara Louise Smith Will Rogers If ever a mortal loved his fellow-man, Or had the perfect gift to understand, And had a heart of purest gold, Or helped the weak, the young, the old Or saw the human side To full extent With a wit so quick and yet so kindly meant It was our greatest humorist And our nation's friend Whose life has been A blessing unto the end.
