- Amon dear: You were most thoughtful to send me of Amon Jr. photographs. I want to thank you and tell you how proud I am to have it. What a handsome boy he is "a chip off the old block" if you didn't mind my saying so - Bill is in Field Artillery too. But we hope that Jim will not have to go - He has two babies, and besides he is raising feed for the rest of us. Mary and I may go east again. We have a sweet little house right in the ocean front, but with black subs and air raid wardens dropping in keep me upset all the time. Do give my love to Ruth and tell that wonderful boy that we are all very proud of him. Love Betty March 25th
