- My dear Mr. and Mrs. Carter: We were so (?) at not seeing you again to tell you what a beautiful time we had at your (?). After the statue unveiling we proceeded to the (?) as per schedule. This (?) (?) everyone on the speaker's (?) was following us, and we could say our "Good Bye" over there, but we could'nt find you. We (?) Mrs. Deakins, who (?) (?) invited us to Mrs. (?) (?) party and (?) dinner at the Courtesy Club. Since "Scrappy" had to take off for Houston this morning at ten oclock, we decided it was best not (?) (?) over last night, much as we would have loved it. I can't begin to tell you how very much we enjoyed being with (?) both at your very lovely party and meeting your very delightful friends. It was, indeed, a gala occasion, so well planned and carried out. I felt so elegantly dressed up with one gorgeous orchid (?) and do thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness. It was so nice meeting you, Mrs. Carter, and as (?) you yesterday, your (?) (?) the paper was very beautiful, but it certainly did'nt do you justice. How proud Mr. Carter must be of you and justly so! Thank you with all our hearts for giving us so much pleasure yesterday and with "Scrappys" and (?)
