On reverse: "These eight men were passengers last night aboard the Philippine Clipper as she winged over the Pacific from Midway to Take Island on a round trip flight from Alameda, Cal., to Manila, P. I. This photo was taken just before they boarded the clipper at Alameda. They are, left to right, Paul Patterson of the Baltimore Sunpapers, Senator McAdoo of California, Pan-American Airways President Juan Trippe, Capitalist Wallace Alexander, Pan-American Chairman C. V. Whitney, Publishers Amon Carter and Roy W. Howard and William P. Roth, shipping magnate."
