Description
via Realto Calif. Dear Carter: I am treasuring yours of August twenty three, nineteen-fifteen and Reading it every once-in-awhile, as it sounds mighty good to me. I'm not going to attempt to answer it just now as I'm just dropping a line to tell you I had the pleasure of showing this district to your friend Stewart of Chi. when he came thru last month piloting 150 farmers for the Santa Fe Ry Co. When I learned that he knew you, the information he got about Orange groves was small and about Carter was large. He seemed to enjoy it but of course, only in proportion to the extent of his acquaintance. He seemed to remember quite vividly the time he slept in your night shirt. He gave me a handful of Cherry Circle Cigars becoz of you, I'm sure. It reminded me of a little poem I once read. "Say! Chimmy I'd be as happy as a clam, if I only was de feller dat me mudder tinks I am" I thought. Carter's just that same - Hastily but sincerely A.L.
