Description
Series of photos from Vice President John Nance Garner and Ettie Garner's visit to Fort Worth for the Frontier Centennial. Garner is seen touching a taxidermied and mounted calf used by Will Rogers to practice roping. The clipping reads "A high point for Vice President and Mrs. Garner on their visit Thursday to the Fort Worth Frontier Centennial was their inspection of the Will Rogers Memorial Room in the West Texas Chamber of Commerce Exhibit Building. Deeply interested in the home furnishing and mementoes which were cherished by the famous cowboy-philosopher, who was a close friend of the Garners, the Vice President and his wife spent much time there and inspected contents of the room minutely. They are shown here on the reproduced stairway that led from the room. Both were greatly impressed with the exhibit."
