Series of photos from Vice President John Nance Garner and Ettie Garner's visit to Fort Worth for the Frontier Centennial. John Nance Garner, Franklin D. Roosevelt's 67-year-old vice president, and his wife boarded a train to return to Uvalde after a visit to Fort Worth's Frontier Centennial - the city's celebration of the 100th anniversary of Texas independence. Bidding the Garners farewell is Amon G. Carter. The clipping reads "A little weary after their full day spent at receptions and other occasions in their honor but happy over their visit, Vice President and Mrs. Garner smiled their appreciation for a good time as they said goodby Thursday night to their host, Amon G. Carter, from the steps of the train that took them back to their home in Uvalde. Both the Vice President and Mrs. Garner expressed regret that they did not plan to spend more time at the Frontier Centennial. The Vice President, expressing his views o the celebration in his own quaint way, described it as 'a darn good show.'"
