- Chief advocates of Lower Trinity River development are these five men, pictured in a typical huddle at the Fraternity of the White Heron's annual fish fry in Anahuac, Texas. Left to right, E. W. McLendon, president, and Dean Tevis, secretary-manager, of the Forward Trinity Valley Association (FTVA), both of Liberty, Texas; Grover C. Chambliss of Anahuac, Texas, former FTVA chief; and L. A. "Buddy" Wakefield of Madisonville, Texas, president of the Mid-Trinity Valley Association. Guy C. Jackson, Jr., seen with his back to the camera (wearing a shirt with Arabella on it, a mystic heron), of Anahuac, Texas is president of the Texas Water Conservation Association.
