- Copy negative of Dallas Times Herald publisher Tom C. Gooch reaching across the county line to welcome Amon G. Carter of Fort Worth to East Texas and present him with a passport to Dallas County for 1952. Looking on are, left to right, Fred Florence, president of Republic National Bank of Dallas, Senator Tom Connally, Secretary of the Treasury John W. Snyder, Dallas Mayor J. B. Adoue Jr., Nathan Adams, honorary chairman of the board of First National Bank of Dallas, and W. B. Clayton, General Electric Company vice president. Gooch and his party were on hand to greet a caravan of 30 buses carrying 1,000 Fort Worth football fans to the Cotton Bowl. [Dallas Times Herald photograph]
