- Letter from Nenetta Burton Carter to her son, Amon Gary Carter, wishing him a happy New Year. In the letter, Mrs. Carter references her son's nearly 27-month-long stay in a prisoner of war camp during World War II. Included with the letter are two pages from a book, one of which consists of the poem "Gratitude for Another Year," by Violet Thomas Hartmann.
